Rooftop Rocks: October Line Up
So Spring has Sprung; and The Rooftop is in full bloom and will be soon restored to it’s former rocking glory.
Remember the days after a long, stressful week of gritty hard work, the sun is shining and only daddalicious mojito will quench your thirst. There is a band on The Rooftop that you’ve heard will put a smile on your face for the rest of the weekend and you haven’t seen your Daddy for a while… quick e-mail around to your friends and voila what a perfect way to put the week to rest and start the weekend with a bang… When you arrive on The Rooftop there is a sea of familiar faces and a waft of boerewors and an echo of guitar rifts. The sun is setting and reflecting off the surrounding buildings and glistening trailers.
The summer is finally here and Daddy rocks….
Friday 7th October Stefan Dixon & Gerald Clark
Stefan performs songs that speak of his heart and mind, and the world outside. He has a uniquely South African sound, reminiscent of a new age Johnny Clegg… but without the loincloth and all that kicking.
While keeping one foot firmly planted in the blues, Gerald has stepped outside musical boundaries. His acoustic Afrikaans album 'Sweepslag' ('Whiplash') was nominated as the best Alternative Music Album Afrikaans at the 2009 SAMA (South African Musicians & Artists) awards.
