Come sway with me…
The Cape Town Jazz Festival kicked off in grand style last night, and with true Cape Town generosity, the first show of this year’s festival was a free concert, in Green Market Square – open to everyone who shares a love for Jazz. The atmosphere as crackling as The Brand New Heavy’s , Jimmy Nevas and Jimmy Dludlu, who has played at Grand Daddy before with the Soul Housing Project - took to the stage with their easy going jazz beats. The crowds absolutely loved this sampler of the excellent Jazz which will vibrate through the Mother City’s heart this whole week-end.
The Cape Town Jazz Festival has grown over the last couple of years, into becoming one of the top Festivals on the international Jazz Calendar, and it attracts a wide selection of top Local and international artists. The main shows will be on the 6th and 7th, in various locations through out Cape Town. Please have a look at Cape Town Jazz Festivals official website for more details.
At the Grand Daddy Hotel, our very own resident band, Soul Housing Project, will be performing on the Rooftop, on Friday night the 5th of April with special guests Kanyi Mavi & Siya Makuzeni (cover charge of R30,- pp)
